Rest In Piss, Cybertruck
I'm the kind of girl who has terrible car opinions. I, for one, think the Honda Element is the most beautiful vehicle ever conceived. I have an unhealthy obsession with every jalopy I see (please, if you just let me, I could fix him). For these reasons and more car culture can be kind of a frustrating thing. Often the petrolheads of the world seem obsessed with things I just do not value; how loud an engine is or what sound a tailpipe makes or if the vehicle can reach speeds you cannot legally drive on your country's roads (although I'm sure if I lived in Germany I'd care about reaching 200kph a lot more). And then there are mall haulers. Big SUVs or 4x4s used to bring your groceries back from the mall. I just can't stand them.
Today is the day the worst mall hauler fucking died.
Been a lot of good news this week. Godzilla Minus One opened to great reviews, the US seems to have remained sane for at least one election night, Hungary repealed an anti-LGBT legislation, Russell Brand got convicted and his victims finally get to see some justice. Some bad news too, rest in peace Sir Patrick Stewart.
But if you'll allow me to be a bit spiteful; The cybertruck has been an expensive, ugly, tasteless monument to driving tanks in a world that needs sensible cars and functioning public transit infrastructure. Nevermind the flaws, of which there were many, the entire philosophy underpinning its design grosses me out; the idea that the future is grey, angular, overly large and sacrifices everything mechanical to put as much behind electronics as possible. Today it has been reportedly production of new cybertrucks has been halted citing underperforming sales, and it genuinely couldn't have happened to a nicer car. And maybe this is small news, they stopped making a shit car, there's a lot of other stuff to celebrate, a lot of stuff to be sad about, but if you'll allow me a small moment to be spiteful;
Fuck this stupid car, and may it rest in piss.
From Luna, with no love for the cybertruck or the jackass billionaire behind it.
